At a recent Gotham Whale team meeting, we raised a glass as Paul told his story of how Dick was the mentor who helped him get his start in the aquarium field.  Dick's lessons of management and for life were an inspiration to a young man.  That young man had a wonderful career realizing his dream of adventure and in animal care.  Without Dick's influence, that dream might have never been realized.  One of the team members said: "and Gotham Whale would never have happened."   We are so thankful to have known Richard L. Jandl

Dick left this poem: a beautiful thought regarding all those who "sail away".
